About Cheviot Hills / Rancho Park
Cheviot Hills and Rancho Park real estate are residential areas located on the west side of Los Angeles. Located side-by-side, they are small neighborhoods containing mainly single-family homes. Rancho Park homes for sale as well as Cheviot Hills homes are purchased primarily by families and young professionals.
The Rancho Park neighborhood was established in the 1920s as a middle-class neighborhood and most of the homes are ranch houses and bungalows. These fairly small homes have today been remodeled creating larger homes with more modern amenities. Although there is an area of Pico Boulevard within the community, the neighborhood retains a residential feel. Trees line the areas between the sidewalks and the street and there are reproduction 19th century street lamps.
Rancho Park real estate is not considered to be as fashionable or expensive as Cheviot Hills; however, it is still a wealthy neighborhood. Both neighborhoods are served by Los Angeles USD schools. There are also private schools within the areas. A variety of recreational activities are available to those who purchase Cheviot Hills homes for sale. Cheviot Hills Tennis Courts, Cheviot Hills Recreational Center and Cheviot Hills Park are next to Rancho Park Golf Course. The 18-hole course was where Tiger Woods played and set a junior record in 1989 at the age of 13.
Families who choose Cheviot Hills real estate can enjoy the recreation center and park, which have baseball diamonds, indoor basketball courts, an indoor gymnasium, a children’s play area, volleyball courts and picnic tables. There is a pool that is open seasonally. Cheviot Hills homes for sale are bordered by Beverly Hills to the north, Beverlywood to the east and Palms to the south. Ranchero borders Cheviot Hills to the west and northwest. Ranchero is bordered by West Los Angeles to the west, Westside Village to the south and Westwood to the northwest.
There are a number of highways that provide easy access to various other nearby areas. The San Diego Freeway, Beverly Glen Boulevard, Olympic Boulevard and Santa Monica Boulevard are considered general boundaries of this area. The major through streets are Pico, Olympic, Sepulveda, Westwood and Beverly Glen Boulevards. The fact that there are so many access roads allows residents of Cheviot Hills real estate to enjoy recreational as well as employment opportunities in neighboring cities.
